>The time it takes for professional air duct cleaning can vary depending on several factors, when the HVAC system was installed and age of the HVAC system also, including the size of your home, the number of vents, the level of contamination, and the method of cleaning.

On average, duct cleaning for a typical home with 10 to 15 vents can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. However, larger homes with more vents or more complex duct systems may take longer, while smaller homes with fewer vents may take less time.

The process usually involves a technician inspecting the ducts, cleaning the vents and ducts using specialized tools and equipment, and then resealing and reassembling the system.

Air duct cleaning can be a bit messy, but a professional cleaning service should take steps to minimize the mess and clean up any debris that is generated during the process.

During the cleaning, dust, dirt, and debris that have accumulated in the ducts will be dislodged and removed, which can create some dust and mess. However, a reputable cleaning service will use specialized equipment, such as high-powered vacuums and containment systems, to capture and contain the debris, minimizing the mess in your home.

Before getting started, Armstrong Cleaning will advise you on our cleaning process and what measures we’ll take to protect your home from dust and debris.

During professional air duct cleaning, your home should not get significantly colder. The cleaning process typically does not involve turning off the heating or cooling system for an extended period, so the temperature in your home should remain relatively stable.

However, if the weather is very cold outside and your heating system is turned off briefly during the cleaning process, you may notice a slight drop in temperature inside your home. The cleaning process itself should not take long enough to allow the temperature to drop significantly, and once the heating system is turned back on, the temperature should quickly return to a comfortable level.

Pets can potentially get in the way during professional carpet or air duct cleaning, so it's a good idea to plan ahead to minimize any disruptions. Here are a few tips:

1. Secure your pets: Consider keeping your pets in a separate room or area of the house where they won't be disturbed during the cleaning process. This will not only keep them safe but also prevent them from getting in the way of the cleaning technicians.

2. Inform the cleaning company: Let the cleaning company know that you have pets in the house so they can take any necessary precautions. They may need to be mindful of open doors and ensure that pets don't escape during the cleaning process.

3. Plan for noise: The cleaning equipment used during carpet or air duct cleaning can be noisy, which may frighten or disturb your pets. If possible, make arrangements to keep your pets in a quiet and comfortable area of the house during the cleaning.

By taking these precautions, you can help ensure that your pets stay safe and comfortable during the cleaning process.
